Our Next Meeting:
September 8, 2008 Alice Mendel and Robert Schlemmer will teach how to make beaded flowers at this hands on meeting.
Bring something else to work on, or just come and visit, if you don't want to make beaded flowers.
The Upper Midwest Bead Society meetings are held at the Textile Center 3000 University SE, Minneapolis MN 55414.
Monday meetings start at 7pm, but come as early as 5pm for open beading.

Alternately, Jeff Barber will hold an all day photo workshop on Saturday October 11th and Laura Andrews will teach her Net on Net bracelet class on Sunday October 12th. We were lucky to obtain the new url of www.umbs.org. Both www.umbs.org and www.uppermidwestbeadsociety.org will currently work.
UMBS Fall Exhibition, October 2008
So you think you can bead? Show us!
It's our turn to put on an exhibit in the Textile Center Library and
let others see the beautiful work we've done. Submit your beaded pieces at the September meeting.
UMBS - Tote Bag Logo Winner
Sarah Bober submitted the winning entry with her creative design. She will be awarded one year of UMBS membership and a complimentary tote bag with our new logo imprinted on it. Green and black was the color chosen by popular vote. The bags will arrive this fall.
Excellence in Bead Artistry Award winner: Diane Fitzgerald
Diane Fitzgerald was the recipient of the 2008 Excellence in Bead Artistry Award. This award is underwritten by Shipwreck Beads who honored Diane's achievements with a $1,000 gift certificate from their company. The award was presented Saturday, June 7, 2008 during the Bead Social and Auction Night. Congratulations Diane!
